Welcome to the Self-paced e-Learning Course for training auditors under the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) administered by the Department for Member State Audit and Implementation Support (Dept. MSAIS).  The self-paced e-Learning training course aims to adequately train personnel undertaking internal audits of their maritime administrations as well as audits of other Member States under IMSAS, using the III Code (resolution A.1070(28)) as the audit standard. The training course should facilitate the development of Member States' audit capacity, with a view to further enhancing the global and uniform implementation and enforcement of the applicable IMO instruments.

Eligibility for Course Access:

The course is open to participants from maritime administrations after completion of the course registration form and provision of information on their background and training in basic auditing skills and techniques. To gain access to this course, click 'Enrol Me' and complete the Course Registration form. Participants who have successfully completed the course are strongly recommended to upload supporting documents that demonstrate their training in basic auditing skills and techniques (such as QMS, ISM and similar auditor’s training), if available, as this course is designed to build upon such previous training and experience. 

Eligibility for a Certificate of Completion:

Once the e-Learning course has been completed, and relevant documents demonstrating training in auditing skills and techniques have been uploaded (if available), Dept. MSAIS will review and assess the provided information. If the submitted information is satisfactory, Dept. MSAIS will enable the download of the Certificate of Completion by the participants directly from the Self-paced e-Learning course. More information on relevant qualifications can be found under question No. 11 of the course registration form available in the course.

Course Enrolment Duration:

Upon enrollment and completion of the registration form, participants will have unlimited access to the course for a duration of six months. Once the course duration expires, please be informed that participants will be automatically unenrolled, but they retain the option to re-enroll and resume their studies with access to their previously recorded study logs.

This introductory e-Learning course on the Implementation of the Maritime Single Window covers the importance of facilitation in maritime trade and the concepts of electronic data exchange and the Maritime Single Window in the context of ship reporting related to ship arrival, stay, and departure.

25 years ago IMO developed four training courses to address various aspects of oil spill response planning, preparedness and management. These are known as the OPRC Model Courses and have been completed by many individuals around the world who are responsible for the oversight and management of an effective response to a marine oil spills.

This new OPRC e-learning course stands at the beginning of this already existing series, but does not replace it. It aims to provide those individuals new to the oil spill response community with a comprehensive overview of the essential elements of oil spill preparedness and response.

The free online course is available in English and Spanish. There are no prerequisites for self-enrolment. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to download and print a certificate of completion. Since this is a self-paced online course, it can be paused, saved, restarted and replayed at any time.

This e-learning course "Introduction to the ISM code" in Spanish provides the necessary tools to orientate the personnel of Maritime Administrations / Authorities with the principles and application of the International Safety Management Code (ISM) for the safe operation of ships.

This e-learning course "Introduction to Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation " in Spanish, is intended for stakeholders from the maritime industry and individuals new to the oil spill response community. Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of the various aspects of oil pollution preparedness and response in the marine and coastal environment.
